OccupyCincinnati: We’re Not Gonna Miss You When You’re Gone “Some of our Occupy Cincinnati group sang this as a tribute (and celebration) to 4 (FOUR!) city council members who lost reelection on 8 November 2011. Those four are Bortz, Ghiz, Lippert and Murray and they were clearly not fans of Occupy Cincinnati, it’s goals, the people or the Constitution. May they reflect upon how they went about their political business and ask themselves did they serve the people and the Constitution. Occupy Cincinnati stands on the principles of basic human rights and Peace. And with that may we wish Peace to all, including the four people mentioned above that will not be sitting in our building with the ability to tell police to go arrest people for standing on the wrong piece of concrete. Peace.”

WKYC Cleveland:
Ten arrested at Occupy Cleveland protest
“Cleveland police arrived in force, and asked protesters to move out of the Public Square parks, and on to the sidewalks. Most protesters cooperated with the police request.  Ten people chose to stay in Public Square and they were arrested.”
I watched this entire event unfold last evening in Cleveland, and this article unfortunately really waters down the intensity and resolve of protesters in exercising their 1st Amendment rights.
It was approximately 9:30 p.m. when Livestream Global Revolution site switched over to the events in Cleveland.  There were ~40 people in the square/park at the time, admirably struggling to keep the Livestream connection going.  Then, right out of the blue, 115 OWS supporters came marching into the park from the darkened streets.  The surprise and joy of the 40 already there was a beautiful thing to watch.   They sang songs together and began chanting with renewed resolve.
The police showed up and were outfitted as though they were going to confront a riot; instead, they found very peaceful people just singing away.
I hope the entire (unedited) Livestreaming of this event gets posted on YouTube or somewhere.   Truly, the unity and the Spirit among the people were beautiful to see.

Midwest Power Shift surprises Cleveland OWS in great show of support and reinforcement

OccupyCincinnati page: Response to Friday morning arrests – “….for reasons unknown at this time, a decision has been made today to eject us from Piatt Park.  During difficult economic times, our limited city and law enforcement resources are being used for THIS– not to pursue murderers, rapists, large financial institutions who are unlawfully foreclosing on private citizens’ property, or corporations who commit fraud against their customers and the public in the name of bigger profits– but to come after US.  Whether that is a good use of our resources is an issue for voters to decide. ”
