“Now, after our Mayor, Superintendent, and the citizens of Chicago have heaped praise upon Chicago Police Officers for their excellent work at the NATO Summit, the City has taken the position that Officers are not entitled to compensation for working a sixth or seventh consecutive day during a single calendar week.”
“A class action grievance has already been filed by the Lodge on behalf of any Officer who is entitled to this compensation. Officers need to do nothing more than submit a slip to request compensation and keep anecdotal records. Individual grievances do not need to be filed.”
Well, well, well. Appears that at least some Chicago police may just be ready to jump that fence over to the side of the PEOPLE! They are the 99%, too!

meetings. These are held off site with some people staying behind to maintain a “presence” at the protest. All decisions are made at the General Assemblies with a majority vote required for anything to pass. They are currently putting together their Mission Statement and list of grievances. Everyone is welcome to join in and have their voices heard. It may take longer to do it this way, but true democracy isn’t always quick or pretty.”
