Twitter gets subpoena for account info related to OccupyBoston, notifies users
“Unlike the DOJ/Twitter Order, which barred Twitter from notifying users of the order for their non-content data, the D.A.’s subpoena asks Twitter not to disclose the subpoena to users to protect the “confidentiality and integrity of the ongoing criminal investigation.”  Twitter notified the users, however, and the Twitterverse is lighting up with protests over what appears to be an attempt to invade the privacy of users who engaged in protected political speech.”

Occupy Boston Org:
Occupy Boston Evicted from Dewey Square

“Credentialed press, citizen journalists, academic researchers, and #OccupyBoston media members were repeatedly corralled and moved to surrounding areas 50 feet away or moreprohibiting many from thoroughly covering the raid.  From pointing lights in photographers’ lenses to targeting the two official #OccupyBoston USTREAM live videographers for removal, officials went to great lengths to block media access.”

Thousands Rally to Defend Occupy Movement

Thousands Rally to Defend Occupy Movement Dec 09 2011

“They came by bus from New York and DC. They carpooled from Providence and flew in from Chicago. They drove from Worcester, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Last night, demonstrating how clearly Occupy Boston’s message has been heard and understood, two thousand people traveled from near and far to defend Dewey Square. They painted signs and spoke in General Assembly. They chanted and sang, “Which Side Are You On?” six times, at least, as a brass brand blew steam into the frozen December night. They rallied at midnight, making circles two deep around tents, as the Veterans for Peace stood guard, white flags snapping in the wind. They dressed as bankers so that bankers might be arrested for once. And when the news came that no raid was coming, no eviction imminent, they danced in the streets to celebrate.”

Protesters demanded that Congress pass the American Jobs Act in full and approve infrastructure investments that would repair the failing bridge and create jobs.”

Boston Police Attack Veterans for Peace by @haveyoumetter for @DigBoston

Think Progress:
Boston Police Throw American Flag To Ground, Arrest Veterans, Trash Property To Protect ‘Green Space’ From 99%  “In one of the largest mass arrests in recent Boston history, the Boston Police Department cleared a park of over 100 activists with the 99 Percent Movement in the early hours of Tuesday morning, dismantling and destroying tents that had been set up on Monday. Startling footage shot by an onlooker shows members of Veterans for Peace, an organization of U.S. military veterans who oppose war, being arrested by members of the Boston Police Department, their flags — including the American flag — being thrown to the ground

Almost guaranteed that OWS Boston will pick up at least 500 more participants immediately, including vets.  Stay strong, Boston—and stay peaceful!  If ForcesThatBe don’t back off on protesters, they’ll end up facing a citizen army.

#OWS Stands In Solidarity With 100 Arrested At Occupy Boston Posted Oct. 11, 2011, 11:52 a.m. EST by  Occupy Wall Street would like to express our support and solidarity with both the people of Boston and the 100+ arrested at Occupy Boston last night. We commend them for their bravery in standing their ground at great personal cost to assert the right of the people to peaceful assembly in public spaces.  READ PRESS RELEASE

The Boston Channel:
Oct 6, 2011 Occupy Boston
“If policy makers and their parties continue a self-serving focus on far-off elections rather than needed compromises which address the nation’s current precarious state, the unemployed and underemployed, unable to glimpse the possibility of a better life, will become angrier, more organized and less predictable in future protests. When these mostly young occupiers do depart, the grievances that galvanized them will remain. We ignore that at our peril.”

10/03/11 Boston Com: ‘Occupy Boston’ protesters march peacefully through downtown BostonThey emerged from their tents in the heart of the Financial District as the rush hour kicked into high gear and as commuters dressed in business attire flowed out of the nearby MBTA South Station Red Line. As the demonstrators, wearing mostly jeans and sweaters and toting backpacks, gathered on the sidewalk along Atlantic Avenue, cardboard posters in hand, a few passers-by stopped to snap pictures on their cell phones.”
“A few people on their way to work briefly joined the Occupy Boston demonstration at Dewey Square this morning. And one woman brought homemade cookies, treats she had intended to bring to co-workers. About 1oo people participated in the protest march.”

24 arrests at BofA protest in Boston:“According to organizers, several thousand protesters gathered on Federal Street to show support of homeowners fighting foreclosure. Some staged a sit-in inside the bank’s lobby in an attempt to pressure the country’s largest bank to help struggling property owners save their homes. The arrests were made after some refused police orders to leave the building. Those arrested were charged with trespassing.”
Boston police declined to estimate the size of the crowd.”  [My note:  Which means it was probably very large]
