The Endocrine System, Chakras, Quantum Physics, and Belief

I was introduced into the world of Reiki energy therapy [What is Reiki? ] in 1997 , later becoming a medical transcriber specializing in dictation for endocrinologists.  Naturally then, I connect  the inner energy centers called chakras with the physical endocrine system in my work and almost invariably perceive the diagnosis simply by typing in the initial patient complaint.

The endocrine system is responsible for most of our hormonal output. Hormonal imbalance can lead to emotionally fragile states of being. By the same token, emotionally traumatic events create hormonal imbalance. It is this symbiotic relationship between the emotional/spiritual body and the physical one that sends messages to the subconscious about how the physical body projects its response into the environment. A disconnect occurs when the electro (+/yang) and magnetic (-/Yin) polarities become unbalanced and shut down (in medical terms we are not in a state of homeostasis). When the fourth chakra (heart) shuts down, we eventually experience physical manifestations such as heart and/or blood pressure dysfunction. First chakra (survival) shutdown will eventually produce sexual dysfunction or reproductive system dis-ease, or even violent behavior.

I have applied the known properties of light to my own philosophies as a means to understand the cycle of birth, growth and death. When light undergoes the process of moving from one medium to another (such as from air into water), it is called refraction. The light does not cease to exist; rather, it simply bends itself to accommodate the transformation. I believe our Inner Light undergoes similar states of Being. It is an eternal Light that simply bends when it meets transition—into birth, into life, into death. Both the light we see and the Light we live transmit patterns of conscious organic energy. Quantum physics has just recently recognized this awesome property. I have also come to understand that our external environment is simply a final manifestion of dis-ease; it is within our power of Thought/Belief to set the stage for spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical health . If you set yourself up to believe all that you hear and see then you set yourself up for an overload of disinformation. The vitality of the body is ultimately dependant upon the healthy connection with the Life Force sustaining us.

In early colonial America, when the friars and missionaries all came to “save” the Caddo Indians by blessing them with their “holy” water, the Indians also began noticing that illness was devastating their populations. They began associating these water blessings with death, especially since their nomad brothers and sisters, who were too elusive to be approached by the white man, seemed not to be dying. Little did either side know at that time that it was an invisible smallpox virus carried by the colonists that was doing this. As far as they were concerned, the “holy water” was to be more feared than the white man himself. (Keyword here: FEAR–contracts energy, lowers the immune system.) Well, it looked like a duck and it quacked like a duck, but behold, it was not a duck at all. How many do you suppose died after the water was placed on their foreheads by the friars by suggestive association alone? There is more to a duck than we suppose, no?

I have learned to observe with an objective eye and to paint the environment I have created with a much broader stroke. I pay attention to my dreamscape as well. Explorations such as these have shown me that health truly does begin with belief.

The media , pharmaceutical industry, perhaps a physician incessantly conveys messages to convince us we will be ill at some point, if we aren’t already. TV ads run day and night telling us it is flu season or allergy season, or that we will surely begin to have disease by a certain age—that we need yearly preventative tests to catch some illusive, terrible disease. We are instilled with fear of germs, viruses, smoke, and even nature and our own bodies! This is potentially crippling and even the suggestions can cause a downward flux in the immune system. I leave it up to each visitor to this page to seek your own truth on this matter, but I suggest there is only one reason for illness and that is a depleted immune system overtaxed by stress, subliminal suggestion, mental exhaustion, low self-worth, and/or simply a loss of the Will To Be Well for a number of reasons. When we have overburdened our body/mind/Spirit, forces within us can deliberately create illness in order that we will slow down, rest, rethink, and restore health. The person in the very best position to understand what is going on within you is you!

It is a simple question: Who do you select as the administrator your power and Being—a TV set? Who do you want looking out for your best interests—the pharmaceutical industry?

A good auto mechanic intuitively understands the nature of a vehicle because s/he understands its anatomy and function. The ear is attuned to listening for the subtle sounds. I see myself as the mechanic of my own vehicle; the more I understand the anatomy and function, the more I am able to open an intuitive channel of communication between my thought processes and the cells of my body. When that channel is open, body will follow thought in positive ways. I take my body in for well-woman checks just as I take my vehicle in for scheduled maintenance. I am not opposed to mild prescriptions once I have researched them. However, I see my physician as an adjunct to my health regimen, not the owner of it. Well educated, compassionate, and conscientious physicians are blessings to the health of our communities and to our families. But, when I begin to sense that something feels “wrong”, the first physician I visit is the one within me. I pay attention to my dreams; I try to look objectively at the events and situations surrounding me; I listen to that small voice inside. (I am NOT advocating that you, the reader, cancel your medical tests and visits!  YOU choose your mode of health treatment.  But if you are experiencing medical problems, you might first try consulting your inner physician.)

We humans are certainly not invincible (yet), but we can become more conscious about the incredible power of the mind/body connection. Self-improvement is a lifelong project and what we are here to work toward. “Stuff” is always going to appear. The trick is to rethink our attitudes and beliefs about that stuff.

The orientation of our time/space is that of dualities: up-down, back-forth, good-bad. In this light, I personally understand that for all the potential bad things , we also have access to the good things to balance it out. Nature provides antidotes to everything. Her greatest gift is water. Six to ten glasses of unfluoridated water per day (I flavor mine with green tea or other natural teas) is a powerful antidote for flushing the system of the pollutants we inhale or ingest. When we develop dis-ease, it is usually because we have allowed that balance to slip away. This can occur in one or more of the layers of our Being.  Some of the most deadly pandemics of history such as the Black Plague killed so many people due to a gross depletion of the immune system which was being emotionally attacked by the repressive and depressing issues of the era. There were also many who cared for the dying and did not themselves become infected. Why? Do you know of any kind of mass plague occurring in eras where free, open, creative, and responsive civilizations flourished? From my point of view, the HIV virus  arose from oppressed and suppressed geographic areas of the globe, as well as those who are made to repress their natural self-expression (i.e. homosexuality)  and will remain as long as judgmental and dictatorial structures continually perpetuate fear in populations, of course striking the weakest links in the flow of consciousness that connects humanity.

We are all familiar with the changing of the seasons; of birth,  life,  death – a natural and timeless cycle.  The earth,  as part of the scheme and plan of the Universe,  also goes through cycles of change.  This is scientifically referred to as the Precession of the Equinoxes.  However, the Maya and other ancient cultures understood these cycles with far more reverence and insight that many of us who came after.  Now, we have re-entered the season of “winter”; what we recognize to be our institutions, societies, and cultural structures, are rapidly breaking down now–at least it may seem that way.  But spring always follows winter and the promise of renewal.   Live Your Light.

As we move further into the cyclical end of one age and into the new Aquarian age, we will collectively undergo major transformation through global chaos and restructuring; however, we are simultaneously heralding an age of faster healing and the start of true freedom emerging, which in itself will extend life and self-eradicate many immune-related diseases. The key to understanding in the Aquarian age is to know that Consciousness Communicates Continuously and we are simply turning up the volume.

New Scientist:
How harsh words may hurt your knees “STICKS and stones may break your bones, but words might make you more likely to get arthritis. Not as catchy as the original, but it seems social rejection could trigger diseases linked to inflammation.”
“Psychologist George Slavich of the University of California, Los Angeles, and colleagues asked 124 volunteers to give speeches and perform mental arithmetic in front of a panel of dismissive observers. Saliva analysis showed they exhibited elevated levels of two inflammation markers. A quarter of the volunteers then played a computer game in which other players were instructed to exclude them.  Functional MRI scans showed this triggered increased activity in two brain regions associated with rejection. Participants with the highest inflammatory responses showed the greatest increases in brain activity (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, DOI: 10.1073/pnas.1009164107).

‘Stimulation of immune system heals HIV in weeks’ “International activists are lashing out at world leaders for failing in their promises to do more to treat people with HIV. The criticism comes during the AIDS conference which is underway in Vienna, calling for an end to ‘treatment discrimination’. Dr Marco Ruggiero, from the University of Florence in Italy, supports the view that the public has been misinformed about HIV.”

Pippi It is truly a shame (and shameful) that AIDS patients have been mislead for so long.  Hopefully, keeping the thumb to the screw on medical breakthroughs (far more advanced than we are led to believe), will be stopped by eradicating those agents that wish to hang onto dark power and $$.

Woman loses 50 lb. after gastric band hypnosis “Emma Eveleigh-Anderston, 36, has dropped five dress sizes in six months after being hypnotised into believing she has a gastric band.”
“The mother-of-two paid £980 for four sessions over a one-month period, starting with a 45-minute ‘virtual’ surgery where therapist Russell Hemmings talked her through every step of the medical procedure as though she was actually in the operating theatre

NY Times Science:
Discovering the Virtues of a Wandering Mind ‘While a person is occupied with one task, this system keeps the individual’s larger agenda fresher in mind,’ Dr. Klinger writes in the Handbook of Imagination and Mental Simulation. ‘It thus serves as a kind of reminder mechanism, thereby increasing the likelihood that the other goal pursuits will remain intact and not get lost in the shuffle of pursuing many goals.’ ”
“To encourage this creative process, Dr. Schooler says, it may help if you go jogging, take a walk, do some knitting or just sit around doodling, because relatively undemanding tasks seem to free your mind to wander productively. But you also want to be able to catch yourself at the Eureka moment.”

Mind wandering also helps to move away from focusing too much on physical concerns, anxiousness, and worry.  This is why I encourage people to take up a hobby of interest that creates mind space for wandering into random thought and getting to know that Higher Self.

Placebo treatments stronger than doctors thought ” ‘When you think you’re going to get a drug that helps, your brain reacts as if it’s getting relief,’ said Walter Brown, a clinical professor of psychiatry at Brown and Tufts University. ‘But we don’t know how that thought that you’re going to get better actually translates into something happening in the .’ “

Democracy Now! Interview
Dr. Gabor Maté: When the Body Says No: Understanding the Stress-Disease Connection“The Vancouver-based Dr. Gabor Maté argues that too many doctors seem to have forgotten what was once a commonplace assumption–that emotions are deeply implicated in both the development of illness and in the restoration of health. Based on medical studies and his own experience with chronically ill patients at the Palliative Care Unit at Vancouver Hospital, where he was the Medical Coordinator for seven years, Dr. Gabor Mate makes the case that there are important links between the mind and the immune system. He found that stress and individual emotional makeup play critical roles in an array of diseases”

What is Reiki?

“Einstein’s symbolic E=MC2 has opened the conscious mind to higher science.  Reiki Energy symbols open the Soul to deeper Truths.”
 Mayavision2012
1998

In the 19th century, Dr. Makao Usui rediscovered an ancient healing art;  he called it REIKI (RAY-kee) which is the Japanese word for Universal Life Force energy, or KI – the activating energy of all life forms.  It is known as PRANA in India and CH’i in China.  The Polynesian Hunas call it MANA, and quantum physicists refer to it as patterns of conscious organic energy. Doctor Usui has done for the field of energy healing what Einstein did for physics and Jung,  for psychology.  Reiki practitioners of today stand on the shoulders of those who understood that an unseen life force orders and balances our universe.  Reiki principles are based on the knowledge that physical dis-ease is a manifested result, created by our depleted energy centers (called endocrine glands to physicians, and chakras to energy healers.)  Reiki is a Japanese word essentially meaning Universal Life Force Energy. It is based on the ancient knowledge of energy centers spiraling out from the physical body and connecting with the subtle or etheric body. The Book of Hopi, Mayan Codices, and other ancient texts from around the world speak of this fundamental connection with Life Force. are directly associated with the atoms, cells, tissues, and organs of the physical  body.

Properly trained Reiki practitioners focus on this vibrational energy, creating a pathway of exchange with the client.   The energy will self-direct to the most fundamental layers in need of healing.  The practitioner is simply a facilitator to that end.

Reiki works well in pain management.  It may begin the process of clarifying mental and/or emotional issues, assist a transitional patient in the process of acceptance, or simply release negativity.   Reiki balances the subtle body energies, relieves stress, stimulates the immune system (THYMUS GLAND – very important!) and accelerates natural healing.
