Crash Kills General Who Scrambled Jets on 9/11 “Wherley was commander of the 113th Fighter Wing at Andrews Air Force base in Maryland during the September 2001 terrorist attacks and sent up aircraft with orders to protect the White House and the Capitol, according to the 9/11 Commission report.”

Continental Airlines Flt 3407: Another plane crash in less than four weeks has occurred, this one ending tragically in Clarence Center, NY. What piqued my attention when reading about this one is that the wife of a 911 WTO victim was onboard this flight ["Among the 44 passengers killed was a woman whose husband died in the World Trade Center attacks of Sept. 11, 2001."] on her way to celebrate what would have been his 58th birthday. She had met with President Obama just days before on behalf of 911 Truth.
Update 02/13/2009: Two musicians with Chuck Mangione jazz group were also on flight 3407 .
Update 02/14/2009: Alison Des Forges “a human rights activist and historian who tried to call the world’s attention to the looming genocide in Rwanda” was also on Flt 3407.
I flashed back on an irony that I have heard very little about since Flight 1529 was heroically saved after it landed in the Hudson river in January 2009. It carried the brother of a WTO 911 victim. ["Passenger John Howell of Charlotte said he was thinking of his family as he waited to be rescued. He could see lower Manhattan, where his brother died when the World Trade Center towers fell on 9-11."]
Additionally, 2 hours and 50 minutes before this, flight 273 from Las Vegas to Buffalo NY (where Clarence Center is) had an engine fire but fortunately landed safely. If a 911 relative was on that plane, the odds would be astronomical.

While it may simply be a true coincidence [I don't think anything occurs by coincidence], I’m starting this blog just to chronicle the strangeness in air and space that has been visited on us in 2009 already.

Russian space authority, Igor Lisov, wondered why the U.S. Strategic Command (USSC) didn’t warn about the impending collision and have the Iridium satellite moved out of harm’s way. “.
Follow-up article from USA TODAY: “The collision offers a literally heaven-sent opportunity for the Obama administration to take forceful, visible and long-overdo measures to address a long-ignored issue of ’space debris,’ Oberg said.” [That's interesting to say the least. ]

Hoagland on Coast To Coast 02/13/2009 [top of the show] regarding his “intel” information on the Iridium satellite involved in the collision with the Russian satellite: “What’ s going on with all this (bailout) money? This network….this communications network of Iridium satellites….turns out it is the backbone of the electronic funds transfers for money that has been disappearing in Wall Street.” [emphasis mine] (Richard also informs us that tracking of the satellite was the responsibility of USAF Air Systems Command at NORAD, not NASA.)
