I was just checking out the Coast To Coast web site when I saw that investigator Bob Fletcher will be discussing the “mysterious” death of Sonny Bono on tonight’s show (05/11/2008). This was news to me and all of a sudden the entries in my daily journal surrounding his death and my experience of “sensing” him around us during a Reiki attunement session in 1998 just came rushing back to me in vivid detail.
Back in 2001, I posted a series of excerpts taken from my 1997-1998 daily journal when I was caring for my dying father (reposted in 20-page format HERE). I was also learning Reiki healing therapy at that time. Following are my entries about Sonny Bono:

Dec. 31, 1997: The Kennedys have suffered yet another family tragedy. Michael Kennedy, the 6th son of Robert F., has been killed in a skiing accident. What a way for the universe to cap off a year in which we saw so many controversial people leave this planet.
Jan 06, 1998: You know you’re getting older when you don’t recognize the names of any of the Grammy nominees! Has it been that long since I stayed up with the music scene? That reminds me; I heard this morning that Sonny Bono was killed today. Like Michael Kennedy, he also hit a tree in a skiing accident up on Orion Run at Heavenly Valley, not far from Auburn. What’s going on here?
Jan 11, 1998: During my Reiki II attunement today, I felt a deep and fundamental change–big time. First, I felt my third-eye chakra pressing very hard out into the room. In my mind’s eye, I saw the ankh, the cross, and then I saw a child’s wind spinner, a little toy that turns in the wind. I could feel tears rolling down my face. And then, boom! All of a sudden, a strong energy force whizzed by like a car, coming in with a small rumble, blasting as it goes by, then fading; a Doppler Effect. My senses welled up with compassion and some sadness. I know that if anyone ever reads this little journal they will not believe what happened next, but it did happen. I received a message from Sonny Bono. The message was that he was very concerned for his children and wasn’t ready to leave them just yet. When the attunement was over, I was speechless. There was no way I could tell my instructors what I had just experienced. But I didn’t have to; Guni said “He told us this message was specifically for you and that you will have confirmation soon, and that you will write about him in a book someday.” All I could think was “Good, Lord! With all due respect, if I was going to experience my first clear psychic message from a Spirit, Sonny Bono would have been the last Soul I would have expected!
March 29, 1998: WOW! I just saw an article in the newspaper titled “BONO’S MOM SPEAKS”!
“The mother of the late Congressman Sonny Bono said her son would have preferred his wife to stay home to care for the couple’s young children instead of succeeding him in office. Somebody else can take care of the Salton Sea-who can take care of my grandchildren?”
Gosh, Sonny, you really WERE worried about your kids back in January, weren’t you? Sonny has found his spokesperson.

Ten years later, I hear for the first time that there are questions surrounding his “accidental” death. Now, there is an entry I made in my Journal for 01/14/1998 that I never included on line. I type it here just as I wrote it:
Reading CWG in bed. Suddenly sense a presence. Sonny, again. Asking or telling me the name of “Edward Forbes” and “pencil pushing.” (?). My impression is that Sonny needs to complete a document with this man. Wow. What now?
Perhaps he was quite right when he said he was very concerned for his children and wasn’t ready to leave them just yet. Perhaps he was concerned for his children in more ways than just by his absence….hum.
I am in no way suggesting that the name and the phrases I “heard” implied anything sinister at all. No bad or good connotation to it….it just was what it was–thoughts. Perhaps just imagined. I have since listened to the very credible argument by Mr. Fletcher for the theory that Sonny Bono may not have had an accident at all. In death, my experience of Sonny in those days was a real concern about some “accounting issues” or “contracts to finish.”
